Extension Educator, Natural Resources, Environment and Energy (NREE)

The Extension Educator coordinates educational programs in Natural Resource Conservation, Environmental Awareness, and Energy Sustainability in Des Plaines, IL. Programmatic focus includes the management and conservation of natural resources (e.g., rivers, forests, prairies), environmental quality (e.g., pollution, waste management, climate resilience), and sustainable energy practices. The role involves developing and delivering research-based programs and materials for diverse audiences and supporting volunteer initiatives such as the Master Naturalist, Climate Stewards, and Master Watershed Stewards programs. The Educator will collaborate with campus faculty, community stakeholders, and statewide teams, while maintaining strong networks across the region. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is required, along with educational programming experience and the ability to work collaboratively in team settings. The position involves regional travel, physical activity, and a salary range of $59,000 to $82,000.
