
Join us for an exciting day of hands-on learning activities at the Center for Agrarian Learning (CAL) led by McHenry County College instructors and 4-H staff. Middle & High schoolers entering grades 6-10 (4-H age 10-14 as of September 1, 2024) are invited to participate. NOTE: If you attended last year, you may still attend as some of the activities have changed!

- Date: Wednesday, June 11
- Time: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
- Location: Center for Agrarian Learning (CAL), McHenry County College
- Fee: $10 includes lunch
- Register by June 8
- Limited to 24 youth who must be 4-H members.
Activities Include:
- MCC Student Farm Tour
- Sessions led by MCC instructors
- Farm Tool Demonstrations
- Greenhouse Plant Propagation – Take home your very own succulent plant!
- Hands-on Floral Design Workshop
- Soil Testing Samples
- Lunch Provided
- Session on Careers in Agriculture
- Tour of McHenry County College - time permitting.
What You Need to Know:
- Check-in begins at 8:45 am at the MCC Student Farm.
- Wear comfortable closed-toed shoes for walking.
- Dress appropriately for the weather (we’ll be outside).
- Apply sunscreen or bring your own.
- Bring completed Health Emergency Medical Form - English or submit to Extension office or Michele at maavang@illinois.edu.
